OEX Oceanside and OEX La Jolla are full-service PADI Dive Centers, offering scuba classes, sales, rentals, and scuba tours since 1995.

Our Dive Masters and staff specialize in guided shore dives of La Jolla's Ecological Reserve, Cardiff Reef, Carlsbad beaches and beyond. San Diego is well-known for its world-class shore diving and OEX is known for its expertise in guided divers around it.

La Jolla's Ecological Reserve is a 600+ acre area established in the early 1970's, there is no fishing or hunting allowed, and the fish seem to know it! In North County San Diego, OEX Oceanside has found several great shore dives and has professional guides to show you the best shore diving that North County has to offer.

Both locations offer PADI Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster courses. Also offered are numerous PADI Specialty classes, including Underwater Photography, Enriched Air Nitrox, Wreck Diving, and Night Diving, to name just a few. Our beginning Open Water Scuba courses can be completed in four days and the Advanced Open Water in two. Our PADI scuba instructors pride themselves on patience and our knowledge of scuba diving. Total beginners are welcome and encouraged!

Discover Local Diving

Hire one of our Divemasters to take you on a guided dive off La Jolla Shores, La Jolla Cove, Cardiff Reef or one of our other fantastic North County dive sites. Divemasters are knowledgeable and ready to acquaint you with the kelp forest life, the shipwrecks off our shores or the canyon walls. Call to reserve a DM and get local with your diving! $70 for first tank, $30 for 2nd.

Discover Scuba Diving

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater. If you want to find out but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving will let you try scuba to see if you like it. Most PADI dive shops offer a version of this program, either in a pool or other body of water. You might try it close to home or while you’re on vacation.
While not an actual scuba certification, during the Discover Scuba Diving experience you’ll learn how to use scuba equipment in shallow water and get a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. Call today and reserve one of our Saturday sessions. $99 per person includes use of all required gear.
